Founded in 1742, Moravian College is a small residential, liberal arts college that draws on the Moravian traditions of community, engagement in the world, and balance among body, mind, and spirit in the life of the individual. The College seeks to develop in students of all backgrounds the capacity to learn, reflect, reason, communicate, and act with integrity as individuals and in association with others, preparing them for advanced study and continuous learning, individual achievement, and leadership and service for the common good.

We were founded on the basis of education for all, being the first college in the U.S. to educate women and Native Americans - in their own language. One unique aspect of our programming is our InFocus program (https://www.moravian.edu/infocus/about-infocus). Each year, we focus on one of four themes: Poverty and Inequality, Sustainability, Health and Healthcare, and War, Peace-building and a Just Society. There are campus wide events with guest speakers, special courses, research and service opportunities in each of these areas which are well aligned with the U.N.

St George’s College Aruvithura, affiliated to M G University Kottayam, is managed by St George’s Forane Church Aruvithura. The institution is an aided college and had 44 permanent teaching faculty and 24 administrative staff members and 62 teachers & 19 administrative on contract basis. The permanent members of the staff are paid by the government. There are a total of 2060 students under 21 disciplines. We offer 17 Undergraduate courses and 4 Post Graduate courses.

Education opportunity for all: The college offers educational opportunities to all eligible candidates irrespective of their caste, creed or socio-economic status. Admissions to all the courses are done through the Centralized Allotment Process as per the direction of MG University to which the college is affiliated. Fighting poverty through education: Eradication of poverty through education and the consequent social upliftment have always been prime concerns of the institution.

Our three aims – education, research and entrepreneurship – are reflected in the way the university is organized.
