UACA was founded in 1976 as a non- profit foundation. It was the first private university of Costa Rica. Its long trayectory and remarkable academic history makes it one of the best private universities in the country. Another important activity UACA has done in March was: Commemoration of the International Day of Women in Curridabat Park.
