Please describe briefly any activities your institution is already carrying out, which are relevant to UNAI and its principles:
○The University of Kitakyushu has developed the "Campus SDGs Project" and "SDGs In-house Leader Training Course" for university students, faculty members and companies in order to encourage a better understanding of the SDGs. ○We are engaged in the organization of sales activities and seminars on fair trade in the university, implementation of a Model UN, and food drives to reduce food loss in order to raise awareness on poverty and our responsibilities as global citizens. The university also holds a number of public lectures and educational programs for new graduates and people in the workforce to provide Kitakyushu's residents with a wide array of educational opportunities. ○We offer courses on language education, such as English, and international understanding to give participants a more in-depth experience in intercultural understanding. Students also have opportunities to actually experience different cultures through our work in identifying and setting up study abroad destinations, sending students abroad, and the enrollment of international students at the university. ○The university also promotes research related to energy issues, such as the development of technologies for renewable energy, environmental issues, such as the development of resource circulation systems, and social issues in relation to super-aging societies, such as medical and nursing care support, at one of our affiliated organizations, the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology.
