Please describe briefly any activities your institution is already carrying out, which are relevant to UNAI and its principles:
Free International University of Moldova (ULIM) is hosting since 2014 the UN Information and Documentation Center, opened with the support of the United Nations in Moldova. Since then, our university through a variety of activities supports the Republic of Moldova in achieving its major development goals and fulfilling its vision to be a prosperous and modern European country. As an official UN documentation centre, it carries a wide variety of information materials, ranging from maps and brochures to books and UN documents. Among the documents found in the library are: the UN Year Book, the UN Charter, Basic Facts About the United Nations, reports by the UN Secretary-General, as well as literature on peacekeeping, human rights, children, women and gender issues. The UN key-priorities of cooperation with Moldova have been presented at various events held at our university, with the participation of the Resident Coordinator Office and other experts . We have been be delighted to work with several UN agencies (UNDP, UNICEF, UNHCR, IOM) that are interested to have a positive impact on the quality of the college education, learning more about their developmental priorities and priorities at the global, regional and country-level. The UN Center at ULIM has become a dynamic information hub on UN activities and priorities for all our students and teaching personnel, foreign students visiting ULIM, as well as other groups of interested visitors. The International Relations Department at ULIM is organizing each year the Model United Nations (MUN) that is an academic activity in which students function as delegates in a simulated UN conference, thus giving the opportunity for those interested in global issues like climate change, international trade, development, human rights or international organizations, to be involved in a fun way through MUN to learn what the global actors are doing and kinds of challenges they face to creating solutions.
