Please provide a brief description of your academic structure:
Feevale University has over 14.000 students, with over 60 undergraduate courses, such as Law, Business and Medical School and many others, 8 MBA's, more than 30 lato sensu graduate courses, 9 master's and 5 doctorate programs: the University also takes part in an international cooperation framework which is made up of 123 institutions established in 27 countries worldwide. To offer support to its activities, Feevale has a modern infrastructure, with technological laboratories and equipment, libraries, multimedia rooms, auditoriums, a sports complex and health clinics. Moreover, it has other services such as banks, restaurants, coffee shops, a bookshop and easy access to public transportation. Campus I, placed in a historical neighborhood of Novo Hamburgo/RS, Brazil, takes up Escola de Aplicação – elementary and secondary school - a pinacotheca and the National Shoe Museum, which keeps the memory of the activities related to shoes and leather production in Brazil alive. Campus II is located in a beautiful area where the buildings, which are named after colors, are surrounded by gardens. The majority of programs and services operate at Campus II, such as the Traineeship Center, the Juridical Practices Center, school-clinics and the Analytical Center. Also, in 2019, the University has expanded its scope to embrace the digital age, with the Feevale Digital program. Through the use of the Blackboard education tool, the institution intends to be where the students are - the initiative has 12 new offices in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and also one in Dongguan, China.
Please describe briefly any activities your institution is already carrying out, which are relevant to UNAI and its principles:
Feevale’s history began on June 28th, 1969, when ASPEUR was established in Novo Hamburgo/RS, Brazil. Throughout these years, many important commitments regarding regional social development were made, based on the ethics and the transparency of the relations that the Institution has with its public. The University has extension projects that are committed to extend higher education for refugees - with an actual class of 34 students, coming from different nationalities -, and also a commitment with human rights, especially towards genre non-discrimination and towards the help of homeless people, through courses and aid. In the academic sense, the Academic Master's and Doctorate in Cultural Diversity and Social Inclusion investigates interfaces between state, social movements, languages, economics, information technology, public policy e social inclusion, without losing sight of the homogenization processes and cultural heterogeneity characteristic of societies contemporary.
