Please provide a brief description of your academic structure: 
The Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA) is a Brazilian public institution of Higher Education created in 1966. It has nine campuses covering most of the state located at the cities of Bacabal, Balsas, Chapadinha, Codó, Grajaú, Imperatriz, Pinheiro and São Bernardo, besides the central campus located in São Luís (capital of Maranhão). It offers 106 undergratuate studies that includes all the major fields of scientific knowledge. It offers 47 master programs (academic and professional level) and 13 doctorate programs with some of them well evaluated at national and international level: Public Policies, Public Health, Physics and Biotechnology, for example. UFMA possess a University Hospital (HU-UFMA) that congregates, in its unities, assistance actions to the community and of professional training, linked to teaching, research, and extension. Our university currently has a student body of 34,181 students from all levels of education. Finally, our university has an established student support network with an emphasis on socioeconomic vulnerability, indigenous, black and other minority communities. UFMA is open to all level of academic mobility and international cooperation.
Please describe briefly any activities your institution is already carrying out, which are relevant to UNAI and its principles: 
Our university develops several research and extension projects in the area of ​​family farming, history, culture, health, etc., either with quilombola and/or indigenous communities, or with the general population. Our institution has a establhised student assistance policies for students in socioeconomic vulnerability to ensure access and permanence to higher education. The International Relations Office provides many programs for international mobility and internationalization at home.
