Please provide a brief description of your academic structure:
We have 13 departments and 21 courses. We are one of the leading art universities in Japan. It is the largest number of students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate schools (including online course). We are located in the northeastern part of Kyoto-city, and is close to historical heritage such as Ginkakuji Temple, Manshuin Temple, Shisendo and Shugakuin. We covers a wide range of art and design fields, such as graphic design, animation, comic, character design, movies, fashion, jewelry, interior, architecture, landscape, theater, and fine arts. Many of our alumni plays in wide range of industries and acted in the world of art and design in world-wide. In April of this year, the SDGs Promotion Office was established. And we are starting to implement various efforts to cover SDGs area.
Please describe briefly any activities your institution is already carrying out, which are relevant to UNAI and its principles:
Mr. Tomokiyo Tanaka who is the head of the SDGs Promotion Office gave a speech at a UN conference in June, 2019. And one of our students who study comic, made this story manga-coming and expressed not only internally also externally. Her manga-comic made many students to know about the SDGs and our activity about SDGs.
