International Law Competition to be hosted by the International University MITSO in Belarus

9 August 2018 - The International University MITSO (Belarus), a member institution of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) will host from 24 to 28 September 2018, the XIII International Law Competition “Youth for Peace”. This is an annual contest for students from different countries in which they are expected to demonstrate excellent knowledge of International Humanitarian law, International Public Law and International Human Rights Law, as well as ability to adapt to the changing environment.

The competition provides students with an opportunity to enrich and extend their knowledge in the sphere of international humanitarian law through participation in a simulated armed conflict. For more than a decade, "Youth for Peace" has brought together representatives from more than 40 countries and is actually included in the working plan of the National Commission for the International Humanitarian Law Implementation under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus.

The main goal of "Youth for Peace" is disseminating among young people the idea of tolerance and intercultural dialogue conduct, demonstrating the importance of peaceful coexistence of nations. In 2015, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus included "Youth for Peace" in the list of the most prestigious competitions in the field of International Law in such country.
