International Conference on the 10th Year of United Nations Academic Impact hosted by Chandigarh University

On 18-19 November, 2019, United Nations Academic Impact member Chandigarh University (India) will be hosting the International Conference on the 10th Year of United Nations Academic Impact: Opportunities and Strategies for Collaborative Higher Education Impact in Emerging Economies. Faculty, students, and research scholars of both UNAI member and non-member institutions are invited to attend.

Launched on 18 November 2010 at UN Headquarters in New York by the then UN Secretary General H.E. Ban Ki-moon, United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) seeks to create a collaborative synergy of higher education institutions and universities across the world. The role of higher education institutions (HEI) and universities has become critical for engaging multilateralism to achieve global sustainability. However, the quality and relevance of higher education still remains a challenge in many institutions and universities. To address the barriers facing HEIs today and to celebrate UNAI as it enters into its decennary year, Chandigarh University announces this international conference on '10th Year of United Nations Academic Impact: Opportunities and Strategies for Collaborative Higher Education Impact in Emerging Economies'.

The conference seeks to achieve the following objectives:

  • To promote collaboration and cooperation among HEIs with the aim of fostering Sustainable Development.
  • To explore innovative ways of collaborative action for greater higher education impact.
  • To share knowledge on role of HEIs in promoting continuously evolving multilateralism post United Nations era.
