Department of Global Communications promotes Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions in May

In May, the UN Department of Global Communications focuses on Sustainable Development Goal 16 - Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

The content, gathered from across the UN System, explores 71 years of peacekeeping and its commitment to protect and serve hundreds of millions of civilians. It looks at the International Criminal Court’s efforts to end crimes against humanity as well as the United Nations’ work to protect children from the atrocities of war.

We also feature interviews with Nobel Peace Prize winners, Nadia Murad (exclusive) and Dr. Denis Mukwege, who have dedicated their lives to end the use of sexual violence as a weapon of war.

Below are some highlights from our May edition. To access the full package, go to: https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/goal-of-the-month/

Please note, key hashtags of the month are #ServingForPeace, #WorldPressFreedomDay, #ACTtoProtect, #SafetoLearn and #GlobalGoals.

All materials can be found on our Trello board. We’ll be sharing these materials via @GlobalGoalsUN accounts on Twitter and Facebook, in case you’d like to amplify. (Here’s a sample social media post: https://twitter.com/GlobalGoalsUN/status/1123550050389516288)
