The 10th International Scientific Conference on “Energy and Climate Change” Calls for Scientific Knowledge About SDG7

The tenth International Scientific Conference on “Energy and Climate Change” will take place at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) on 11-13 October 2017 in Athens, Greece. The conference has been organized by the Energy Policy and Development Centre (KEPA) of NKUA, coordinator of PromitheasNet, under the auspices of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) and the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI).

PromitheasNet is an energy and climate change policy network that includes members from 16 countries of the Southeast Europe, Black Sea, Caspian Sea and Central Asia regions. KEPA has been a member of UNAI since December 2011. The entry of KEPA into UNAI has increased the capabilities of PromitheasNet to promote the influence of NKUA internationally.

The Conference is divided into three parts:

  1. The first is the “Green Energy Investment” Forum, aiming to bring together policy makers and market stakeholders to explore opportunities for investment that promote the transition to a low-carbon economy.
  2. The second is the “Scientific Sessions” for the topics of energy and climate change, renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, and sustainable development.
  3. The third is the “Brokerage Event” for research projects and exploration of cooperation proposals.

Participants had been invited to submit abstracts relevant to the following themes/topics or combinations of them: environment/climate change (environmental pollution, mitigation, adaptation, sustainable development); and energy (conventional fuels (oil, gas, coal, lignite), electricity, renewable energy sources (solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, biomass, waste, tidal, hydrogen), biofuels and bioenergy, energy efficiency and conservation).
