‎24-year-old Ronan Farrow is a Special Adviser to U.S. Secretary of State Hilary Clinton for global youth issues and director of the U.S. State Department’s Global Youth Issues office. Declaration of Sentiments

We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men and women are created equal. On 20 July 1848, a group of women and men adopted the Declaration of Sentiments at a convention called to address the plight of women in 19th century society, held at Seneca Falls, New York. On Nelson Mandela International Day, a group of UN staff volunteered over 67 minutes each to paint benches in Central Park and sent birthday wishes with a cake that read Happy Birthday Madiba!!!

South Sudan became today the 193rd UN Member State. The newest African nation declared its independence from Sudan on 9 July after over two decades of civil war between north and South Sudan.

“Getting the Facts Right”

On 4 May 2011 “Getting the Facts Right” celebrated the first-ever issue of the UN Yearbook as an e-book. The panel included Prof. Robin Andersen and student Norhan Basuni from UNAI members Fordham University and CUNY Baccalaureate, as well as Prof. Pamela Falk, and Roland Schatz, from Media Tenor. Robert Bullock, New York State Archive, served as moderator.
